First question I had was if it was square tube or a solid chunk.. it is definitely a solid chunk of steel. This thing has some heft to it, which is a good feeling. I have a 3/4 avalanche that’s heavy. I used this thing right away. First day I watched a heavy loaded military hummer go in the ditch and get stuck, and they let me pull them out. I was right there, so they hadn’t called it in yet.

While it is good to have a D ring receive hitch in your Jeep just in case, it is always preferable to avoid a nasty situation in the first place. You should avoid driving in unknown areas or driving over something with an uncertain depth. You also need to drive slowly when possible. However, even the most careful drivers may end up stuck in the mud at one point or another. A D ring hitch is useful, but it is also good if you always carry a first aid kit, jack and shovel in your Jeep, too.
Once the products arrived, the quality spoke for itself. WOW! The tow strap is just plain sexy (if you can say that about a tow strap). It is very well made and is unlike any other tow strap I have seen. The shackles appear to be incredibly durable. I will update this review once I have spent more time putting these products to test on the trails. I also LOVE that they attach their logo and the American Flag to the tow strap.
