I would spend a little (ok a lot) extra for the Factor55 bling Hitchlink merely for its weight difference from something like the Warn. Southeast Overland in Seneca has both tow and snatch straps. We're going to take a measurement of the overall length, basically measuring from very back to very front. We're looking at about 8". If we take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin holes to the back of the shank . so measuring from this one right here to the back of the shank, that's going to give us a measurement. It's going to be 13/16 of an inch.

Third, think about whether you want one hole or two through the receiver block for the hitch pin. The advantage of two is that it lets you insert the shackle hitch with the bolt either horizontal or vertical. The difference depends on whether there's any height difference between the two vehicles. If the vehicle being rescued is down in a ditch for example, it may be helpful to insert the shackle with the bolt horizontal to get some vertical movement.
I honestly didn't have too high of expectations when purchasing this product as the cost was a lot easier on the wallet than local farm supply stores. That being said, this thing has a beautiful fit and finish. The ability to have the shackle mounted sideways, keeps from damaging your rope from pinch points. This thing is a solid chunk of steel. I'm not entirely sure that it is possible to damage this hitch on a full size truck. The hitch pin or shackle will fail way before the receiver will. Make sure you use this thing as it is intended because if you manage to rip this off, it is going to take armor plating to stop this thing in a projectile state. It is SOLID! Also, buy a locking hitch pin. Someone would definitely steal this if they have the chance.
