Like many others on here I took a chance on a small company I had never heard of. I was expecting good quality but was actually amazed at the fit and finish on these shackles. I don’t need a set of shackles that can support the weight of a fully loaded semi, but I have them. I purchased these to attach their 20’ and 30’ straps together if I ever needed to. ( be prepared right? ) if it says Rhino on it you can believe it will be good quality. Every piece of recovery gear I carry from my shackle hitch to the shackles that may be wrapped around your axle or frame says rhino on it and if it’s you sitting in the ditch you will be glad it does.

24x48 Outside dimensions. Hitch-mounted cargo carrier with lockable lid offers 13 cu ft of storage space for your gear. Mile Marker comes in at spot number three because of its cool orange color and multi hole configuration. Its prolly the most expensive on this list, with the same features and towing capacity as the others. It has a 11,000 pound working load. And you can insert the hitch two different ways, which will make your d ring shackle go vertical or horizontal. A cool added feature to help you get out of a sticky situation. Made for 2″ receiver and 3/4″ d-ring like the others.
I wonder if that's just theoretical or if it has actually happened though. Hitch pins are so thick I have a hard time picturing one actually bending much less breaking, with the normal loads of recovery.. especially with the elastic recovery strap. Also though, even if it breaks, wouldn't the pin just stay in the reciever while the strap flies out?

Just a few measurements we're going to go over real quick starting with the overall length, from very back to the front with the shackle extended out. That's going to give us a measurement of about 11 and a half inches. If we measured just the mount portion without the shackle, that's going to give us a measurement of about 8 inches. Really simple installation. This portion right here is going to be the portion that slides into your 2 and a half inch by 2 and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. You're going to push it in until you get your pin holes lined up with one another in whatever configuration that you want to use this.
There's no guarantee that the hitch rating is the same as the truck's tow rating. The base truck is rated for 3,500 lbs so it's possible someone puts on even as low as a class II hitch, which is 3,500 lbs rated. So you just have to know what everything is designed for. I'm not sure you can say the tow point could actually handle 10,000 lbs. Perhaps it's the frame that gives up at 6,500 lbs so trying to use 10,000 lbs in the hitch would mean the hitch itself would stay intact but pull the frame apart. It's maybe due to brakes, not exceeding the weight of the truck itself too much, stability. But that's all speculation. All you can say is you know 6,500 lbs is fine.

Whether you’re at the lake, the dunes, the race track, or in the mountains, you can relax knowing that whatever you are towing will be kept safely behind your truck.
Nice Shackles as described, though not really any different than any other shackle, except it says Rhino. I paid extra to get these hoping the powder coating would keep them from rusting. First rain, not ever having been used, rust appeared in the eye hole. They should ecoat, with a zinc phosphate pretreat, then powder coat to make this a great product. Military surplus may be a better option, and paint over the CARC.
