It's made from a solid steel construction. It's going to offer three pinhole locations, so you have one right here and then two on this side. That's going to allow the shackle to be used horizontally or vertically, and it's got the short mounting shank. That's going to enable the shackle to sit pretty close to the receiver that's mounted onto the vehicle. We have a screw pin design.


There are a number of ways Jeeps get stuck when off-roading. You may drive through a patch of mud you thought was solid but turned out to still be fairly wet. Not everybody needs to be able to tow this amount of weight. For these people, you might instead opt to get a receiver hitch or ball mount hitch since they will normally clock in around 5,000 or fewer pounds in towing weight capacity. If you don’t envision ever needing a hitch which can handle weights which are more than usual, you should simply get a ball mount of the receiver hitch.
Also the bolt through a hitch receiver is in double shear, so unless you are driving a M35 and pulling out an M1A1 it's unlikely that you will stress a hitch pin or bolt to failure yanking out Hiluxes and Wranglers. The only disadvantage IMO to using the loop-and-pin method is convenience, stuffing the strap in can be a pain and sharp edges do need to be smoothed to keep abrasion minimized. But it's a perfectly legitimate and safe way to connect to a recovery point and does eliminate additional connections, which is good.
While I just received this product and have not had the opportunity to use it, I know it will meet the needs of future towing tasks the next time I have to tow a truck or car. In the past I have had to attach a tow strap to my rear axle in order to tow someone, but now I have this attached to my truck, and towing will be so much easier. It just threads through the unit. The threads are going to be on this portion here that's going to hold that long bolt in place. Now let's go ahead and take a look at the measurement here of the opening that it gives us. Measuring this direction, at the widest point that's going to give us an opening of about 3-5/8". Measuring the opening from this portion here to the shackle, that's going to give us a measurement of about 4-5/8". I'll go ahead and show you real quick how that removes.
I too have their shackle hitch, tow strap and 2 d rings but still haven't needed to use them. Their quality appears to be good and supposedly made in USA. I liked their stuff enough to also purchase and just received today two of their tire pressure gauges since I broke the head off of an old pencil style one. Again quality seems to be pretty good.
You can see here at the end of our shang it's going to have pen holes all around it. That way you can use this in any position inside your hitch, whether it's vertically or horizontal. The diameter of those pin holes is going to measure 5/8ths of an inch. You hitch pin and clip or hitch lock is going to be sold separately. Love the Bulldog winch 3/4" ×1-1/4 shackle. Its very strong, works & looks great, on my Scrambler 1K. I've had the bulldog for over a year now and it has not let me down. I had a difificult time finding a shackle of this size and quality here in Canada. Until I came across etailer.com. I would definitely recommend this shackle for any atv/utv with a 1-1/4 hitch. That's going to allow for easy and quick connect and disconnect of the recovery strap . Now, this is going to be great for ATVs and UTVs that have an 1-1/4" hitch on it. It is going to require a 1/2" hitch pin and clip or lock to get it secured into the hitch. That item is sold separately. You can find those right here at etrailer.com. I purchased a few items from this company and ended up returning them due to what I feel is a very deceptive marketing tactic they've chosen to use. It's clear from they're choice of labeling and branding that they're trying to imply that their products are proudly made in the USA, which couldn't be further from the truth. Even the labeling on the boxes is in my opinion deceptive as they state "Made in the PRC!" like people aren't going to figure out the the PRC is "The Peoples Republic of China". Your products might be decent, but I won't support your company simply based on the unethical marketing. If you want to make your products offshore, that's fine, but OWN IT!
