Every off-road vehicle breaks down from time to time. If you don't want to have a bolted-on tow hook on your off-roader, a D-ring hitch placed in your receiver will provide the high-powered towing you need. You can keep them in all the time like a regular ball hitch receiver or simply have it available when needed. Tow your new rig to your house or the shop or simply have it on hand as part of your recovery kit. Tow straps easily work with the tow hitch shackle. Simply unscrew the bolt then place the loop of the strap and bolt back together. Hand tightening should be all that you need to do to keep the strap in place. Don't turn the shackle when towing because you could bend the metal. Keep the tow strap on the flat part of the D-ring and keep you and your vehicle safe.
We get it. Your gear takes a serious beating, and you demand the best from your equipment. Anything less is going to leave you frustrated & potentially stranded. That’s why you chose this D-ring hitch receiver from Vault Cargo Management. We powder coated it to ensure that when you need to use it, it’s in great shape & ready to roll. Simply loop your tow strap through the D-ring shackle, slap it into the shackle hitch receiver, and you’re ready to roll.

Very sturdy hitch hook. I put it on my truck because my friend had one (on the advice of his father) to minimize rear end accidents. I was rear ended last month, and it did its job. Yes, my truck had damage that was fixed by the other guy's insurance company, but I think it kept the damage to a minimum, and sadly damaged the other guy's radiator. Also, when I got high centered in the snow last winter, the guy who winched me out attached to this and dragged me to safety. This is a basic, very solid, unit. I expect to keep it for the life of my truck.
He's talking about the towing rating of the truck. The hitch is what it is. If you have the Toyota tow package (at least on my 2008) you got a class IV hitch, which is rated to 10,000 lbs towing, 1,000 tongue weight. That's because the truck is rated to tow 6,500 lbs. So they couldn't use a class III hitch, which is rated to 6,000 lbs, 600 tongue weight.
I purchased a few items from this company and ended up returning them due to what I feel is a very deceptive marketing tactic they've chosen to use. It's clear from they're choice of labeling and branding that they're trying to imply that their products are proudly made in the USA, which couldn't be further from the truth. Even the labeling on the boxes is in my opinion deceptive as they state "Made in the PRC!" like people aren't going to figure out the the PRC is "The Peoples Republic of China". Your products might be decent, but I won't support your company simply based on the unethical marketing. If you want to make your products offshore, that's fine, but OWN IT!
