Use this electric tongue jack to lift your trailer with the flip of a switch. The sturdy steel jack can handle up to 3,500 lbs. It has 19" of travel and a 5" drop leg for extra lift. LED Features: Electric jack with 12V motor lets you lift and lower your A-frame trailer quickly and easily Top-mounted toggle switches are easily accessible Large LED side lights make it simple to set
Mr. Cover named his invention as a tribute to another inspiration, the Tom Swift science fiction novels he read as a child, one of which was “Tom Swift and His Electric Rifle.” He created an acronym from “Thomas Swift Electric Rifle,” adding the “A,” he explained to The Washington Post in 1976, “because we got tired of answering the phone ‘T.S.E.R.’ ”

Eliminate the physical exertion commonly associated with lifting and lowering a trailer when you use a Stromberg Carlson 3500 lb. Electric Tongue Jack. It does the heavy lifting for you, and has lots of other features as well. For example, the trailer tongue electric jack has equalizing bars that are easy to set, so you get better results, and two separate LED night lights that provide both added safety and additional illumination. The leg extends up to 23; and although it is heavy and durable, it's also surprisingly lightweight and easy to store.

From the center of the shaft to the front outside edge of the motor housing is 3-1/2 inches. I included some of the mounting plate when I measured for height, which is 8-1/4 inches, since that sticks out over the shaft as well. I also measured from the bracket that fixes to your trailer's A-frame to the bottom of the mounting plate for the motor and that measured 13 inches. See included picture for a visual. To make sure that you have a secure power connection to the jack motor I recommend...

It sounds like there may be a short in your Bulldog jack which could have been caused by excessive moisture from the rain. Also I recommend checking the wiring from the jack to the ground and power sources. The jack grounds through the mounting hardware so you may need to temporarily remove the jack (be sure to support the trailer another way) and sand away any corrosion. Also check for corrosion or damage to the power wire and where it connects to the battery. The light switch...
This fits nicely on our travel trailer power jack. We purchased it to stop the sun fading the black jack. Although we purchased and started using this a couple months ago, after days of heavy rain here recently we thought it would be prudent to check under it today. Yes, it is not waterproof BUT it was only damp under there and all the electronics still worked so we were happy. Let's face it, the manufacturers make the jacks to be weatherproof so a bit of water/damp should not hurt them. I do like another reviewer's idea of putting a plastic bag on first and then putting this cover on top though. A great idea!
