OK, so you have your trailer tongue weight (or a rough idea what it is). What next? If you have a weight distribution hitch that uses spring arms, it's very likely that you will need to raise both the front of the trailer and the rear of your tow vehicle in order to be able to get the spring arms onto their brackets. So not only is the tongue jack lifting the weight of the front of your trailer, it is also picking up the rear of your tow vehicle. 😳
Bought one to protect the head unit on boat trailer electric jack. Works great. Bought two more to protect our eBike (pedelec) computers on the handlebars of our bicycles. Fits nicely over the brake handles and the computers to protect them from inclement weather. Our bikes sit on an external bike rack when we travel. I had to take apart the computers and use a hairdryer on them after out last two thousand mile trip. Hope these eliminate having to do that and prevent future damage to the computers. 319085

I went out to the warehouse to look at the Lippert Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack, # LC285318. In order to remove the screws that secure the cover you will need a long and thin phillips head screwdriver. If you don't already have one, you'll want to purchase a Protective Cover, # UF38-944020, to keep your jack dry when you are at the campsite. This will protect the head of the jack and keep the motor protected from the elements.
The RV electric jack cover protects your unit from UV damage and environmental hazards. Universal RV electric jack covers are an excellent solution for protecting the finish and prolonging the original appearance of these systems. Each cover has 1/8″ strong and durable draw rope with a barrel cord lock in the hem for quick easy installation and removal. Recommended for storage only.
Then inside, we're going to have a nice soft material. Even if the wind's blowing this around a little bit or something like that we're not going to have to worry about any abrasion on our jack. The way it works is the simple drawstring here is going to pull down and secure around the outer tube of our jack. We'll just slide it over the top just like this, then cinch to close. This is going to protect not only the jack motor body itself but also our switches and out light from any kind of discoloration from UV fading. Also, it's going to protect it from the rain, the snow, dirt, debris.
We highly recommend getting yourself an electric trailer jack. Marshall has always had one on his Lance, and Kelly just recently got our #1 recommended Husky electric jack after almost three years living with a manual jack, and she couldn't be happier. For Kelly, it was one of those "Why didn't I do this a long time ago" reactions. Oh well, nothing like living in the present and not bitching a fit every time you have to hook up! No more worries about Kelly's back going out because of her jack. Her back is jacked, but her back won't go out due to a jack. Something like that.

Those who are interested in buying items like these have many different types available for their needs. For example, a trailer fender is necessary for protecting your RV from impact damage. They can fit where old ones were and fix any auto body concerns from which your vehicle suffered. More specific types include RV awnings that provide you with a comfortable place to sit during rainy weather.
