Looked like the generator I wanted, I liked having the RV plug. When I picked it up at Walmart, it was sitting in their back room upside down, the box was pretty obvious. I took it home and opened it up, the steel cage had a big dent in it, may have still worked fine, but I never tried it. As hard as it had to have dropped, I was concerned about what else might have jarred loose or broken inside. Return process was simple, which was nice. After looking around again and considering other options, I have ordered another one, this time with wheels, as this thing is pretty heavy.

You’ll need to determine your family’s power requirements in order to determine which level of wattage on your generator is suitable. If you plan on running electronic devices such as cell phones and laptops off your generator, you’ll want to invest in one with inverter technology for ‘clean’ power that runs without surges that could fry the components.
It can be easily connected to your home’s lines while its gross torque is at 35.1 ft. lbs. at 2,500 rpm. Moreover, the engine displacement is at 688 cc and it is also okay to use for natural gas or propane lines. With great Honda reliability, it has 10,000 surge wattage and 8400 rated wattage for natural gas while it has 10,000 surge wattage and 9450 rated wattage for liquefied petroleum.

If you are looking for a generator to use with your rv or when camping there are some features that you are going to want to consider. The main ones are noise level, clean power and the ability to run off of multiple fuels such as gas or propane. Also you will want a model that offers sufficient watts to power all your equipment, appliances and devices. A long run time is ideal as well.
One feature that many people worry about is the size of their new generator. Does it have enough power to run all of your electronics without completely draining the gas supply that you have available? This is important because a lot of the newer RVs have most of the luxuries that you would find at home. This will make life in an RV more comfortable, but will also not only consume more power but also consume more fuel. Therefore, the best stage of planning or research before purchasing a generator is accurately estimating how much power you will require. If you’re trying to start and run a 15,000 BTU air conditioner, a 2000W portable generator will not cut it. You’ll need to run multiple generators in parallel or look for a larger unit.
Alternately, with 2400 watts starting power, and 2000 watts running power, this inverter generator can also be used with high-wattage devices, such as most energy-efficient air conditioners. This machine can run an RV air conditioner in temperatures up to 110F and will run most RV conditioners rated at or below 13,500 BTU, as well as microwaves, heaters, etc.
A couple of additional items. The engine is OHV, and uses a cast iron cylinder. This is far better than aluminum and it lasts FAR longer, plus can be rebuilt down the road. All the mechanics are rubber mounted, meaning less vibration and quieter running. When running, I carried on a normal conversation with my wife, and the unit made no effort to vibrate out of position. The muffler/spark arrestor is large and well mounted.
Compact and quiet, the Pulsar 1200W portable gas-powered generator is the ideal combination of portability and low power. Though it runs on 900 watts of power (up to 1,200 peak watts), low power shouldn’t be confused with low capability. Dual 120V outlets and a single 12V DC output will power a variety of devices, tools, and other electronics. Appliances are also welcome on the Pulsar as refrigerators, microwaves, and televisions are all within operating levels. Running for 8.5 hours on a half load, the generator only consumes around 1.1 gallons of fuel. A power panel features an AC reset button, circuit breaker, and DC reset button.
Roughing it is only fun until you can’t make a cup of coffee or charge your cell phone. Bring a Generac portable generator to your next tailgate party or camping trip and you’ll have all the comforts of home wherever you are. Power kitchen appliances. Charge personal electronics. Watch TV or listen to music. Generac portable generators ensure the good times roll.
With great standby power, the dual fuel generator has some sound insulation and is definitely one of the better generators out there. Many people say that the dual fuel generator is a great generator for job sites and the high leverage handles add to the portability. You can easily spend a weekend with the RV using this dual fuel generator and its dependable OHV air cooled engine. You can get maximum power from the 120-volt receptacles with the dual fuel generator as it is able to handle the heaviest electrical loads possible.
Hi RVTailgateLife. I’ll need to get Robert to answer your second question (it might take a bit, he is under the weather right now). 🙂 I answered the first one for Doug as well, here is the response: Honda EU3000iS: 58dba @ rated laod, 49dba @1/4 load. Yamaha EF3000iSEB 60dba @ rated load, 53dba at 1/4 load. Champion 3500/3200 Watt Dual Fuel 59dba. Can’t find if that’s at rated load or 1/4 load. The Briggs and Stratton P3000 is rated at 58dba @ 1/4 load. The manufacturer states that they don’t have a rating at different loads. That leads me to believe that the champions rating is also at 1/4 load.

Propane, or liquid propane (LP) is the most environmentally friendly gas choice. It produces clean emissions and it has a very long shelf life. The problem with this type of fuel is that your gas is limited by its tank size. For a longer trip, there may not be enough fuel  in the tank to keep your unit powered through the duration of a trip. Also, propane may be harder to locate when it comes time to refuel.
• You can use portable generators anywhere on or off your property, but they must be at least 15 feet away from any structure, including your house, doors, or windows—and not in an enclosed space. Make sure the exhaust is facing away from your house. These models produce potentially deadly levels of carbon monoxide, a gas that kills approximaely 149 people each year in the United States. If it's raining, you must use a tent or cover.
We went through a storm, and I lost use of my oxygen generator. NEVER AGAIN. Could not be more pleased with this purchase. Received well boxed with plenty of foam. Opened the top and end of the box, everything was packaged separately, and the unit was in a full wrap plastic bag. I noticed a small puddle of oil in the bottom of the bag as I pulled it down, and checked the dipstick. The crankcase was empty, but there was oil on the dipstick. I think the last QC check was a flush of the crankcase or a hydraulic pressure check. At any rate, I dried the spots where oil was on the frame, it never reappeared. A container of the correct amount of oil, and a funnel, are supplied. Two bolts install the wheels (which are ball bearing); two bolts hold the pull handle; and two bolts hold the floor bumper. Then just snapped on the air cleaner cover. Everything went perfectly. Installed the wires to the battery (I switched to the top screw clamp). Added the oil. I added a gallon of gas (same octane as my car). After turning the fuel valve on I let it sit about 5 minutes to allow the fuel to feed down. Flipped on the 2 switches and hit the start button - in under 2 seconds it was running without a glitch. Let it run about 20 minutes. There were no oil or gas leaks, and the small appliances I plugged in worked.

When running a portable generator you can expect it to be loud. However, this one isn’t terribly obnoxious with a decibel rating of 69. To put this into more perspective for you, it is about as noisy as your average lawnmower. It’s a sound you will be grateful for when you need it most. Similar to the Champion unit previously mentioned, this generator set is a bit on the lighter side at a maximum of 130 pounds, which is helpful on the back when wheeling it around.
